Video Clip of Annanko (Ananku) Kata & Bunkai by Redlands Karate dojo

Hanshi John Sells describes Ananku (alternate spellings include Annanko, Annaku) as translated to “Southern Light” as having descended from Kyan, and was taught after he returned from Taiwan in 1927 (history text "Unante II", ISBN 0910704961).

Video 01:  Annanko bunkai on 3rd composite motion showing 2 variants of application.

Video 03:  Annanko - an exploratory bunkai of middle section of kata, using a more advanced joint lock manipulation scenario.

Pictured above and in the video clips are Sensei Garry Edwards and Senpai Darren Harbinson performing bunkai. As in all kata, there are bunkai variants for all motions (i.e. more than on application). Bunkai is "style" independent - as all styles which share the same kata share the same origin.
