Pictured below is Sensei Garry Edwards and Senpai Darren Harbinson performing bunkai training on the last action in Seipai (a throw). Seipai is a kata most commonly practiced in Shito-ryu and Goju Karate styles. As in all kata, there are bunkai variants for all motions (i.e. more than one application). Bunkai is "style" independent - as all styles which share the same kata share the same origin.
