Qld kids & adult kyu rank karate camp 2017





November 4th & 5th

Two days of concurrent activities covering:

    Little Tigers (4-6yrs) 

    7-11 years

    Adults & teenagers, with a focus for those under black belt

    Non-training parents are welcome to accompany & stay over

Featured Instructors:

Shihan Jason Armstrong (7th Dan, Shito-ryu) - lived in student of a "Master" in Japan & has placed in international kata & kumite events 

Sensei Greg Scovell (4th dan, Shito-ryu) - studying martial arts since 1972 he has trained in Japan, Malaysia, the USA and Australia.

Senpai Lois Rowley (2nd Dan)

Senpau Grant Ribbink  (2nd Dan)

Senpai Yyvonne (1st Dan) who began her training in 2010 is now a shodan in Shito-ryu. She teaches our 5 to 7yr olds (little tigers) and the 8 to 10 yr old  (little dragons)

9am            Check-in

10-11:30     Basics & Drills

12 noon       Lunch

1-2:30        Kata & Kata Competition (comp for some kid ranks)

3-4pm        Beach session 1

5:30pm      Early dinner

6pm-7:30   Movie before bed







Sunday 5th November

7am-8am          Ippon kumite (adults) & Ippon kumite competition (kids) & pad work

8:15-9:30        Breakfast

9:30am-11        Bunkai & other partner drills (higher ranks more kumite based) & bunkai competition; little tiger partner/team drills

12 noon           Lunch

1:30 to 2:30      Beach session 2 (adults & kids) & kids sumo competition
